The Mallorca Olympic Triathlon belonged entirely to the Bianchi Pro Triathlon Team as Miguel Hidalgo and Daisy Davies delivered two dominant victories on the south coast of the Balearic Island.
One week after claiming silver at WTCS Yokohama, Hidalgo underlined his outstanding form with a commanding solo performance in Colònia Sant Jordi, breaking away early in the swim before dismantling the field on the bike and controlling the run to secure his first victory of the 2026 season. In the women’s race, Davies continued her sensational start to the year by backing up her recent Ironman South Africa triumph with another emphatic win, overpowering the field from the opening stages and cruising to back-to-back victories in Bianchi colours.
From the first strokes in the Mediterranean to the final metres along the Mallorcan promenade, both athletes raced with complete authority, giving Bianchi Pro Triathlon Team a perfect double victory in one of the island’s most iconic races.
Miguel Hidalgo produced a dominating performance on Mallorca’s south coast. The Brazilian pushed hard in the opening stages of the swim, breaking the pack and building a substantial gap as he exited the water. The Bianchi Pro Triathlete jumped on his bike with a 45" advantage over the first chasers. Despite an organised chase, Hidalgo was unstoppable and kept extending his lead, opening up a 4'30" advantage as he entered T2. Starting the 10k run Hidalgo stayed firmly in control, running a consistant 3'07/km pace throughout. A superb performance from start to finish saw the Brazilian brake the tape for his second consecutive win on the Balearic Island. A week after his fantastic silver at WTCS Yokohoma, Hidalgo showed his shape is right on point, taking his first victory of the season. All eyes will now turn to WTCS Alghero in a weeks time, a race Hidalgo won last season.
Daisy Davies takes second victory of the season
Back to back victories for Daisy Davies. After her magnificent victory at Ironman South Africa, the Bianchi Pro Triathlete, continued her winning streak in Mallorca. The British athlete, pushed the swim early on, breaking away from the rest of the field, opening a 50" gap on the first chasers as she exited the water. On the bike, there was no stopping the Bianchi Pro Triathlete, as she opened up a gap of 7'30 on the rest of the women's field. A very constistent and strong run, saw Davies cruising to her second victory of the season. Two races and back to back victories for Davies. A confidence booster as she starts her build up to her next big goal of the season, Challenge Roth in early July.
